Kailas FUGA EX PRO: The super trail shoe with carbon plate and Vibram
Kailas FUGA expands its EX range of trail shoes with the launch of the EX PRO, a model designed for high-performance running. The result of collaboration with experts such as Vibram and Gore-Tex, this shoe incorporates a carbon fiber plate and advanced grip technologies. Already validated on demanding circuits such as the UTMB®, this technical and versatile product is a notable contender for this year's Trail Running Awards.
Innovation for propulsion and lightness
The FUGA EX PRO is the latest addition to the EX series, developed to meet the needs of athletes looking for power, durability and grip. The 2025 model features the integration of a carbon plate for the first time in the series:
Carbon X-plate: combined with the unique "Power Grip" technology developed with Vibram. The X-shaped plate is positioned to improve climbing traction and optimize acceleration on flat terrain or slight slopes.
Reactive TPU foam: The midsole is made of supercritical foam for long-lasting cushioning and high rebound (70-72%), offering both power and shock absorption.
Optimized weight: The model retains a competitive weight of 295g (US size 10), an essential factor for conserving energy over ultra-distances.
Grip and durability thanks to Vibram
Kailas has mobilized advanced Vibram technologies to ensure maximum outsole performance without compromising durability:
Vibram LITEBASE: This technology reduces sole weight by up to 30% and volume by up to 50% without altering grip or resistance.
Vibram TRACTION LUG and MEGAGRIP: The combination of these technologies increases grip (up to 30%) and traction (up to 25%), thanks in particular to the innovative design of the multi-zone studs (4 to 6 mm).
This combination is designed to guarantee exceptional grip on a wide variety of terrains, from muddy Asian trails to rocky skyrunning routes.
Ergonomics and foot safety
The design of the FUGA EX PRO incorporates elements aimed at improving the comfort and stability of the foot over time:
Breathability and dryness: The XDiMESH upper is a multidimensional mesh offering 40% greater breathability, a crucial feature for minimizing the risk of blisters caused by sweat build-up.
AWS 3.0 lacing system: this double tightening system is designed to quickly lock the forefoot area, a mechanism that prevents internal foot movement, a source of friction and injury.
Competition validation and recognition
The shoe underwent 18 months of rigorous testing involving 40 elite athletes and over 300 competitive runners on four continents. Since its first season in 2025, the FUGA EX PRO has been worn by athletes who have reached the podium 96 times, including 23 first places.
Notable performances include Christian Minoggio's second place on the OCC of the UTMB 2025 and victories on demanding events such as the Monte Rosa Skyrunning and the Swiss Canyons 111KM.
