Kailas FUGA expands its EX trail running shoe lineup with the launch of the EX PRO, a model engineered for high-performance racing. Developed in collaboration with industry experts like Vibram and Gore-Tex, this shoe integrates a carbon fiber plate and advanced grip technologies. Already proven on demanding courses such as the UTMB®, this technical and versatile product is a strong contender for this year's Trail Running Awards.
Innovation dedicated to propulsion and lightness
The FUGA EX PRO is the latest addition to the EX series, designed to meet the needs of athletes seeking power, durability, and traction. The 2025 model stands out by integrating a carbon plate for the first time in the series:
X-Shaped Carbon Plate: Combined with the unique "Power Grip" technology developed with Vibram, the X-plate is positioned to improve uphill traction and optimize acceleration on flats and gentle slopes.
Responsive TPU Foam: The midsole features a supercritical foam that ensures long-lasting cushioning and high rebound (70-72%), delivering both power and shock absorption.
Optimized Weight: The model maintains a competitive weight of 295g (US size 10), a crucial factor for energy conservation over ultra-distances.
Grip and durability powered by Vibram
Kailas has utilized cutting-edge Vibram technologies to ensure maximum outsole performance without compromising durability:
Vibram LITEBASE: This technology reduces sole weight by up to 30% and thickness by up to 50% without altering grip or wear resistance.
Vibram TRACTION LUG and MEGAGRIP: The combination of these technologies increases grip (up to 30%) and traction (up to 25%), thanks in part to an innovative multi-zone lug design (4 to 6 mm).
This combination aims to guarantee exceptional grip across a wide variety of terrains, from the muddy trails of Asia to the rocky courses of skyrunning.

The design of the FUGA EX PRO integrates elements aimed at improving foot comfort and stability over time:
Breathability and drying: The XDiMESH upper is a multi-dimensional mesh offering 40% superior breathability, a crucial feature to minimize the risk of blisters caused by sweat accumulation.
AWS 3.0 lacing system: This dual-tension system is designed to quickly lock down the forefoot area, a mechanism that prevents internal foot movement, which is a source of friction and injury.
Competition validation and recognition
The shoe was subjected to 18 months of rigorous testing involving 40 elite athletes and over 300 competitive runners across four continents. In its very first season in 2025, the FUGA EX PRO was worn by athletes who reached the podium 96 times, including 23 first-place finishes.
Notable performances include Christian Minoggio's second-place finish at the 2025 UTMB OCC and victories at demanding events such as Monte Rosa Skyrunning and Swiss Canyons 111KM.
