Sidas T-FREE Trail: A sock designed to optimize the foot's natural movement
In trail running, foot alignment and efficiency are fundamental to long-term performance. As the big toe plays a crucial role in balance and propulsion, the Sidas brand has developed the T-Free Trail sock. Featuring T-Free® technology, this product aims to improve the athlete's stride by freeing up movement. This targeted development, the result of collaboration with the elite, is a contender for the title of 'Product of the Year' at the Trail Running Awards.
T-Free® technology: Freeing the big toe
The idea behind the T-Free sock came from a collaboration with athlete Jonathan Albon. Following an injury, he became convinced that a sock isolating the big toe in its own compartment could enable freer movement and better recovery of foot functionality.
Based on this concept, Sidas has developed T-Free® technology. Scientific studies carried out by the brand have aimed to prove that separating the big toe from the others allows :
Improve body propulsion, especially on the flat and when climbing.
Increase foot stability, especially on downhill runs.
Encourage a more natural, high-performance stride.
Technical design for long-distance comfort
In addition to the T-Free® innovation, the sock incorporates all the features expected for endurance trail running:
Fit and durability: Anatomical construction (left foot/right foot) and In & Out technology (no cut wires) guarantee a precise fit and superior comfort, while preventing friction between the toes.
Protection: Strategically placed protection zones, notably in the malleoli, heel and toe box, offer protection against impacts and external elements (stones, branches).
Grip and stability: A wide grip strip improves synergy between the sock and the shoe insole, limiting micro-friction and the risk of blisters.
Moisture management: breathable breathable mesh and Polygiene StayFresh™ treatment ensure long-lasting freshness and odor management.
Ultra-trail validation and track record
Sidas' commitment to Jonathan Albon is part of a co-development philosophy, in which the expertise of top-level athletes is used to push products to their limits. The product's reliability has been confirmed in competition:
Ultra Trail Snowdonia by UTMB: Jon Albon (1st) won the race with the T-Free Trail.
ULTRA TRAIL AUSTRALIA by UTMB: Caitlin Fielder (1st) also triumphed with this model.
WESTERN STATES ENDURANCE RUN: Marianne Hogan (3rd) reached the podium with the T-Free Trail.
These results in the most demanding races on the circuit attest to the performance and reliability of the concept.
